How it began
It started over a campfire
It might never have happened if it wasn’t for those meddling kids. 🙂 This is the story of how a chance meeting of an Irish entrepreneur and a Korean distributor set up Nalin Korean Beauty over a campfire on a chilly November night. As we bonded over the challenges of our respective industries, ideas began to form: how could we give Korean products better access to Irish and European markets?
Many moons later, and with wiser heads, the story continues apace — built on long-lasting partnerships, trust, and a commitment to genuinely helpful service.
Because K-beauty shouldn’t have any K-drama
When we first started exporting, we thought it would be a walk in the park. Pack up some high-quality serums, ship them off. Easy, right? Oh, how naive we were.
The Great Customs Catastrophe
Our first major order was a disaster of Shakespearean proportions. The shipment — meticulously packed and wrapped like the skincare holy grail — vanished into the abyss of customs bureaucracy. “In transit,” then “under review,” then the dreaded verdict: “Missing documentation. Non-compliant product classification.” The same product we’d shipped a dozen times before.
We spent weeks deciphering the mystery — and we learned the lesson that now sits at the heart of how we work: regulations change faster than skincare trends, and compliance is everything.
